From the highly advanced twin-cam engine first seen in the 1950s, to the Twin Spark, mellifluous V6 and the world’s first common-rail diesel, ground-breaking engine design has always been an enduring part of Alfa Romeo’s core proposition.
And the story continues apace today with the announcement that early in 2010 the new Alfa MiTo will be the first car in the range to benefit from MultiAir technology, designed to be incredibly efficient, providing more power yet lower emissions and fuel consumption.
And that’s not all. Alfa Romeo is also launching two new engines in the 159, Spider and Brera; a new 1.75-litre turbo petrol with 200 bhp and a new 2.0-litre common-rail turbodiesel with 170bhp.
