Lloyd Cockermouth BMW & MINI are delighted to announce Hospice at Home West Cumbria as their Charity of the Year for 2024/25.

Hospice at Home West Cumbria provides high-quality palliative and end of life care to people living in West Cumbria. Established in 1987, their care and support are available to those with a life limiting illness, regardless of cause, and are offered for free at the point of need.

Hospice at Home West Cumbria strive to ensure that people in the area have timely access to personalised, high-quality care. It’s their mission to provide home nursing, emotional support, complementary therapies, and lymphoedema care when and where they are needed. They are the only provider of adult hospice services in the West Cumbria area, and all funds raised by local people help them to provide care for those in need.

Hospice at home

Home nursing is at the heart of Hospice at Home West Cumbria; They provide skilled nursing care on a one-to-one basis to adults within their own home or alternative residential settings, enabling them to remain in their chosen place of care at end of life.

The team also deliver a range of family and bereavement support services for families, carers and those bereaved, which includes one-to-one support, group support and complementary therapy. They are also the sole providers of Specialist Lymphoedema Care in West Cumbria - This is a particularly challenging condition that affects many people, which can be as a result of cancer, cancer treatment or other non-cancer related conditions.

Gemma Bell, Marketing & Income Generation Team Leader added:

“We are thrilled that Lloyd Cockermouth have chosen to support Hospice at Home West Cumbria throughout 2024. We look forward to working with them and offering our support with the fundraising activities they have planned. Our charity needs to raise £1.5 million every year to enable us to continue caring for patients and their loved ones going through the most difficult of times, and we rely heavily on the support from our local community.
